This statement applies to the vaccination registration application at register.vacs.nhs.scot and the COVID-19 vaccination appointment management application at vacs.nhs.scot.

The vaccination registration service is a programme of NHS Scotland and the COVID-19 vaccination appointment management service is a programme of NHS Scotland, built on ServiceNow’s Now Platform.

NHS Scotland want these two applications to be accessible and usable for as many people as possible.

Non-accessible content

Not compliant with the accessibility regulations

  • The contrast ratio of the "Accept Cookies" button is too low.

  • When using the date picker for entering a date of birth on Mac OS devices, it is not possible to pick the day of an appointment using keyboard. This is an operating system/browser compatibility issue affecting Mac users only.

NHS Scotland commits to making its websites accessible in line with the accessibility regulations. This accessibility statement applies to the Covid-19 vaccination appointment scheduling application delivered on behalf of NHSScotland.

The COVID-19 vaccination appointment scheduling application is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 (WCAG) A and AA success criteria.

Non-accessible content

Not compliant with the accessibility regulations

  • Inconsistency of header rankings in appointment details section.

  • Session times out without an opportunity to extend the session.

  • On the registration page the colour for mandatory and instructions messages fails to meet sufficient contrast levels.

  • When rescheduling appointment, the label for the map image is ‘map’ which does not adequately describe its purpose.

  • After selecting an appointment time and pressing the ‘select’ button, the page briefly shows the previous page before reloading to a success message.

  • On the success page the text on the ‘Go to NHS Inform’ button does not have sufficient contrast.
